Dubai, March 11, 2026: Two drones fell near Dubai International Airport (DXB) on Wednesday, injuring four people, while airport operations continued without major disruption, according to officials.
Authorities confirmed that the drones came down in the vicinity of the airport, causing injuries to several individuals but not affecting ongoing flight operations at one of the world’s busiest airports.
Four People Injured in DXB Drone Incident
According to reports from the Associated Press (AP) and Reuters, the incident left four individuals injured. Dubai’s media office shared details on X (formerly Twitter), stating
“Authorities confirm that two drones fell in the vicinity of Dubai International Airport (DXB) a short while ago, resulting in minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, and moderate injuries to one Indian national.”
Emergency teams responded quickly, and the injured individuals received medical attention.
Brief Airspace Closure at Dubai Airport
A spokesperson for Dubai Airports confirmed that there was a temporary airspace closure earlier in the day following the drone incident.
However, the situation was resolved quickly, and normal operations resumed soon after.
The spokesperson said
“Dubai Airports confirms that following a brief airspace closure earlier today, operations at Dubai International (DXB) have now resumed and the airport is open and operating.”
Officials added that authorities are coordinating closely with airlines and security teams to maintain smooth operations.
Flights Operating Normally at DXB
Despite the drone incident, air traffic at Dubai International Airport is operating normally, with no significant delays reported.
Dubai Airports stated that it is working with airlines and aviation authorities to ensure that passengers and flights continue to move smoothly through the airport.
