British Airways Cancels Flights Across Five Middle East Destinations Amid Iran War

British Airways (BA) has cancelled and suspended multiple flights to key Middle
East destinations,
including Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Abu Dhabi, and Tel Aviv, amid escalating regional tensions over the ongoing conflict involving Iran.
The airline confirmed that all flights to and from these cities have been paused, citing safety concerns and the evolving security situation in the region.
Abu Dhabi Flights Suspended Until Later This Year
British Airways announced that its Abu Dhabi services will remain suspended until later this year, reflecting ongoing uncertainty in air travel across the Gulf.
In a statement, the airline said
“We’re keeping the situation under constant review and are in touch with our customers to offer them a range of options.”
The airline also confirmed that it is actively assisting customers currently in the United Arab Emirates.
“We’re in touch with customers who we believe continue to be in the UAE to support them and provide options for travel to the UK,” the airline added.
Passengers who have arranged alternative travel plans are being asked to notify the airline so bookings can be updated accordingly.
Middle East Aviation Disruption Worsens
The suspension of flights highlights the growing impact of the Iran war on international aviation, with airlines worldwide adjusting routes and cancelling services due to security risks.
Since the start of the conflict on February 28, more than 27,000 flights across the Middle East and Tel Aviv have been cancelled, severely affecting regional air travel and airline operations.
Airlines Monitoring Security Situation
Airlines are continuing to monitor developments closely as the conflict disrupts airspace access, flight routes, and passenger travel plans across the Middle East.
British Airways said it will continue reviewing the situation and will update operations as conditions change.
